Lifted the World Cup but has no chance of repeating the feat in the Euros
Italy’s World Cup winning captain will not be able to do the same feat at European Championships this Summer after he was certified to have suffered an ankle injury which has definitely put him out of the Italy Squad. Fiorentina defender Gamberini will now join the Italy squad as a replacement for the unlucky Cannavaro who suffered the injury on Italy’s first day of Training in Switzerland.
Gamberini has had over 40 appearances with the Viola this season including UEFA Cup appearances where Fiorentina were knocked out in the semi-finals against Rangers.
