Kaboul wants to play for Harry

Youness Kaboul’s agent has confirmed his client’s desire of joining Premier League outfit Portsmouth.

The young French starlet fell out of favour at White Hart Lane towards the end of last season and is now seen to be seeking a move away from the North London club.

The 22-year-old failed to establish himself as a key player at Spurs since his £7 million pound switch from Auxerre last Summer. It is said that he is no longer part of Ramos’ plans and is free to leave, for the right price of course.

Portsmouth set to be leading the chase for Kaboul after the defender expressed his desire of working under manager, Harry Redknapp and assistant manager, Tony Adams.

His agent, Rudy Raba, said the two clubs were trying to reach an agreement regarding the player’s valuation. Kaboul has not joined up with the rest of his Tottenham team mates at their pre-season training camp in Spain.

Raba told skysports.com, “The two clubs are discussiing a move and are trying to find an agreement,”

“Younes wants to go and he would like to join Harry Redknapp.

“He likes him as a manager and he wants to play football on a regular basis.

“We just hope a deal can be agreed between both clubs so Younes can move on.”

I personally believe this could be a great signing for the club. He’s young, ambitious and it’s obvious he has talent. He’s played a number of times for his country at Under-21 level and even captained the side on a few occasions. We missed out on him last summer but now it seems we can get him and this time for a lower price! He’s got a good number of defenders to learn off if he comes here, including Sol, Linvoy and of course Sylvain. From what I can gather it seems Tony Adams has also proven to be a big influence in Kaboul’s decision making, another plus point.

Although he may not have had the best of campaigns last year, he still managed to score a few goals, more than any of our defenders last season. Harry is known to have the knack of getting the best out of players, if Kaboul signs then he may be onto another hidden gem.
