With Romania drawn in the Group of Death with World Champions Italy, Runners-up France and Holland, hopes might have been dashed but it seems that the Romanians are far away from succumbing to pressure from the big guns.
“Romania have more of a chance than our opponents give us,” said defender Shakhtar Donetsk Razvan Rat to Reuters at a training camp in Mogosoaia, near Bucharest.
“Romania have not got as many great players as Italy and France and even the Netherlands, but the force of our group could make the difference if we have some fortune.”
Confidence is sky-high at the Romania training camp and this could send out a warning to Italy and France who are looking at Romania and Holland to notch points before facing each other, matches in this group will definitely be hot-tempered.
Romania will start their Euro 08 campaign against France… We’ll wait and see what this warning is all about..
