Serie A Transfer Talk: Arsenal star linked with San Siro move, and Moise Kean could head back to England

With the January transfer window just weeks away, we take a look at the latest Serie A transfer talk coming out of Italy.

Serie A Transfer Talk

Gabriel Jesus from Arsenal to AC Milan

After inexplicably failing to qualify for any European football this season after finishing in eighth position in the 2024/25 Serie A standings, AC Milan have been able to improve their fortunes this season.

Not participating on the continent is unheard of among everyone associated with the club, so sitting in second position after 15 matches so far this season are signs of gradual improvement.

Massimiliano Allegri’s side are currently only one point behind arch rivals Inter, after losing their resting perch at the top of the Serie A standings only a few days ago.

So, the addition of Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus could easily fire the Rossoneri back to their first Scudetto title since the 2021/22 campaign. However, there might be one thing lingering in the back of the minds of Milan bosses.

Jesus has only recently returned to first-team duties with Arsenal after missing the first 15 matches of the 2025/26 Premier League season with a cruciate ligament tear. Incidentally, his comeback was a nine-minute cameo off the substitutes’ bench in the Gunners’ 2-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Despite his recent injury woes, Jesus is a proven goalscorer with 95 goals and 45 assists to his name during his time at Manchester City, and 26 goals and 20 assists in his career as an Arsenal player.

However, it does look doubtful that the Brazilian will be departing, even on loan, with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta confirming there are no plans to sell Jesus.

Moise Kean from Fiorentina to Fulham

Only Mateo Retegui scored more goals (25) than Kean throughout the 2024/25 Serie A campaign, with the former Atalanta striker netting six more times than the Fiorentina man.

Kean was four goals clear of Retegui’s former teammate Ademola Lookman, but this season has been a completely different tale.

Kean has only found the back of the net twice in 14 appearances, which has not only affected him personally. It has also had a detrimental effect on his domestic employers, Fiorentina, who are currently rooted to the bottom of the Serie A standings, without a win in 15 matches.

That hasn’t stopped Fulham from registering an interest in a striker who has previously played in the Premier League with Everton. He might have also scored four times for the Toffees, but Fulham’s forward line has hardly lit up the league this season.

Raúl Jiménez has only celebrated four times (G2, A2) in front of goal across 2025/26, while fellow forward Rodrigo Muniz has only half of Jiménez’s returns.

Fulham’s new summer signing, Samuel Chukwueze, is now firing on all cylinders, with two goals and four assists to his name. Marco Silva’s side’s top scorer is actually Harry Wilson (G5, A3), who is a left winger by trade, not a striker.

A stubborn price tag of £44million could potentially put Fulham off Kean’s pending signature. But, to be fair, they did break their own transfer record fee in August by signing Kevin from Shakhtar Donetsk for £35million. So, anything could be possible, in terms of Kean, next month.

Niccolò Fortini from Fiorentina to Roma

Another player who could potentially depart the Stadio Artemio Franchi, alongside Kean, in January is left-back Niccolò Fortini.

The promising Italy Under 21s international has already played 15 matches in all competitions across the 2025/26 campaign for Fiorentina, but has yet to taste the delicacy of a domestic three points.

A graduate of Viola’s academy has cemented his place on the left side of Paolo Vanoli’s defence, but could fancy a change of scenery from Florence to pastures new in Rome.

Touted to be next in line for a first-ever senior call-up to the national side sooner than later, Fortini could be thinking that a move to Roma, who are currently in the concluding Champions League qualification position, might be a beneficial one.
