Stoke Close In On Dramani Capture

Back in August I reported that Stoke were on the verge of completing the loan signing of Ghanaian left winger Haminu Dramani from Lokomotiv Moscow. The deal for the 22 year old fell through though, as the Russian club were unkeen to let him leave before the end of their season, which comes this weekend.

As the season comes to a close, it appears that Lokomotiv are again looking to offload Dramani, who scored against the USA for Ghana in the last World Cup, and are prepared to sell, not just loan the player to Stoke. A figure of £2.5 million has been touted for the deal, with some reports claiming the signing has already been agreed at the price and will be completed when the English transfer window re-opens at the start of January

From what I have read and the little I have seen of Dramani, who has 27 caps for his country, he looks to be an excitng player, pacy and lively and different from anyone else in our current first team picture (he’s only 5’8”). The management at Stoke must rate him highly to chase him over an extended period like this, but I’ll take that as a good sign that he can offer something to the side and improve it, though protracted transfer deals are hardly a unknown thing to us at Stoke.

He seems keen to play for Stoke, saying it is, ”His dream to play in the Premier League”, which is a good sign. It will be interesting to see how this one works out and if it comes off, we seem to have landed a good player.

Dramani may soon be playing in the red and white of Stoke
