Tottenham Win Feyenoord Jubilee Tournament

After defeating Celtic 2-0 in the first match of this tournament in Holland, Spurs then went on to win the tournemant with a 3-0 win over Dortmund, in this, their penultimate match of pre-season. After 9 minutes; Tottenham played the best football of the whole first half, with an 18 pass move resluting in Darren Bent turning well and firing the shot past the Germans’ keeper. His eleventh goal in pre-season. Bentley seemed obsolete in the first half, hugging the touch-line and rarely receiving the ball.

Berbatov and Lennon replaced Bent and Bale, respectively, at the interval with David Bentley switching wings meaning he was playing on the left.

1 minute into the second half and Berbatov, oozing skill, played Giovani through with the outside of his boot, perfectly weighted. Gio ran latched onto it, but was forced to try to place the ball in the far corner with his weaker right foot. But the shot went inches beyond the post.

Not long after that chance, the young Mexican was in a similar position again when Jenas put a great ball through for him. He poked it into the far corner of the goal magnificently with the outside of his left boot. 2-0. Gunter was given 30 minutes, coming on for Bentley and slotting in at left-back while Gilberto pushed up into midfeild. Ten minutes later, seventeen-year-old Adam Smith replaced Jenas, on this his first team debut.

A few minutes later, Gomes made an excellent save to push the ball past the post for a corner. But after 87 minutes; Lennon hit the ball down the right wing for Smith, who played a perfect ball across the face of the goal which was tapped in by Jamie O’hara. 3-0, and the trophywill fly back to North London.
