Spurs 2-0 Celtic

Tottenham got off to a winning start in the Feyernoord Jubilee Tournemant. Dimitar Berbatov got his first start in pre-season. It looked as if he lacked hunger in the first half, but he showed exactly why his asking price is £30m, with fantastic bursts of skill.

It took Darren Bent just 25 minutes to open the scoring with his eighth goal iin three matches, as he latched onto a poor back-pass from Hartley to dribble past the keeper and pass it into the net. Lennon was eager to impress, and took every oppertunity to bomb down the wing.

Bale replaced Woodgate at the interval, and David Bentley was given his debut, coming on for Aaron Lennon. Lennon and Bentley given 45 minutes each tonight, butg will have to contend for a place in the team thgis season.

Bentley looked bright, playing some great balls over the top to Berbatov and Bent. And then Ledley King had the chance for a 30 minute run-out as he tries to regain fitness, replacing Huddlestone. With ten minutes left, Gareth Bale made a bursting run down the left wing, and played a hard ball along the floor. Berbatov left and it was an easy tap-in for Bentley at the back post. Bentley winning over the Tottenham faithful with a debut goal, the final score 2-0.
