Transfers in and out around the League

We are 15 days into the transfer market, yet there havent been any major, big signings as current. Arsenal have apparently signed a good left/centre-back called Thomas Vermaelen. I havent heard much about him and dont really have a clue who he is but he should be a good signing for Arsenal, because defence is Arsenals’s week point. Now to Aston Villa who havent signed anyone yet but are looking for replacements in midfield following the loss of Gareth Barry to mega-bucks Manchester City. Aston Villa have 12 million from that transfer and could use the funds from that to capture a good enough replacement. Blackburn have strengthened their backline with the signings of Left-back Lars Jacobsen and Central Defender Gael Givet from Marseille. New-comers to the premier league and still buzzing from promotion, Burnley manager Owen Coyle needs to strengthen his squad all-round due to the slim squad of just 15 players. Burnley have signed 2 defenders, Centre-back David Edgars from relegated Newcastle Utd and former Derby right-back Tyrone Mears. They have also spent 3 million on Hibernian striker Steven Fletcher. To the team i support now, Chelsea. Chelsea have spent 18 million on russian left winger Yury Zhirkov from CSKA Moscow, and signed two english youths in england u-21 striker Daniel Sturridge and 24 year old Goalkeeper Ross Turnbull. Everton have not yet signed anyone but are rumoured with Orkhan Mustafi and are apprently close to finalising a deal for the Swedish Midfielder. Everton have sold Lars Jacobsen to blackburn on a free and have released Andy van der meyde. Nothing happening around Fulham FC as far as concerned not buying anyone, yet not selling anyone either. Not breaking stuff either at Hull City only retiring striker Dean Windass leaving the club. 2 in, 2 out the story at anfield , Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez signing Glen Johnson , his first signing of the market for an estimated 18m and youngster Chris Mavinga from Paris St Germain. The 2 that have left Liverpool are Jermaine Pennant who has moved to Real Zaragoza and youth winger Sebastien Leto who has joined Panathinaikos for an undisclosed fee. The richest club in the world, Manchester City are linked with almost every single player in the world at the moment and have spent a grand total of 56 million on 3 players, Roque Santa Cruz,Gareth Barry and Carlos Tevez. Man Citys front-line seems to be ever-growing and may be forced to sell a couple of strikers. Robinho, Craig Bellamy, Felipe Caicedo, Benjani, Carlos Tevez, Roque Santa Cruz, Bojinov and Chad Evans are all currently looking for a strikers position place. Only 2 leaving the city ground then so far , Daniel Sturridge to Chelsea and Dietmarr Hamann being released. To the other half of Manchester now, Alex Ferguson making a shrewd summer signing with Michael Owen penning a contract at old trafford, joined by 18m Antonio Valencia and 3m Fabio Obertan. 2 important players leaving manchester united, Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid as expected for 80m and Carlos Tevez joining the supposedly Man.City revolution. Young Star Frazier Campbell has also left signing for Sunderland in a 3.5m deal which could rise to 6m depending on performances. Off to the south coast now, Portsmouth admitting they need some new signings following the departures of Midfielder Lauren, Midfielder Sean Davis, Right-Back Glen Johnson to Liverpool and Defender Djimi Traore to Monaco which leaves Pompey needing replacements. Stoke City, having making a very big impact finishing an impressive 12th in their first appearance in the premier league for some time. However, Stoke havent signed any players to date and have reitareated that they are not looking for any new recruits as current. True to their word, stoke have yet to sign any-one. To the north-east now and Sunderland have signed two Internationals in Frazier Campbell who plays for England u-21s who signed for 3.5m from Man.Utd and Paraquay international Captain Paulo Da Silva, which is a great signing for Sunderland. Tottenham have a overloaded squad with 35 players at Tottenham, so Redknapp needs to sell. So far then, Tottenham havent spent and plunged into the market but got a very good price for Didier Zokora considering they bought him 2 years ago for 7.7m and got 8.2m for him this summer.
