The Sun reported today that Ferguson is interested in bringing Paraguay striker Roque Santa Cruz to Old Trafford from Blackburn. Santa Cruz is considered a key player at Blackburn, but after Mark Hughes is on his way out, it will be difficult for the Rovers to hold on to this player. The Sun claims that Ferguson believes that he would be the ideal player for Rooney and Ronaldo to feed off.
Santa Cruz is a huge friend of Man Utd’s Owen Hargreaves, in their time together at Bayern Munich, and would take the chance of joining the Red Devils. Man Utd have been linked with a host of strikers in the past few weeks, but as happened with Anderson, Ferguson may move for another unknown striker instead of the ones speculated.
