Vinicius Jr. Caught Complaining About Real Madrid Hero During Betis Clash

Vinícius Junior Real Madrid

Vinicius Junior has once again found himself under scrutiny after seemingly complaining about Real Madrid hero Gonzalo Garcia during Sunday’s clash with Real Betis.

The Brazilian addressed manager Xabi Alonso, noting the apparent lack of service from his teammates.

Vinicius Junior Complained About Gonzalo Garcia in Real Madrid Win

The cameras of Movistar’s ‘El Dia Despues’ captured Vinicius Junior bitterly complaining to Xabi Alonso during Real Madrid’s 5-1 victory over Real Betis. The No. 7 lodged his complaint after a section of Real Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabeu booed him.

Vinicius Jr. singled out Gonzalo Garcia in his note of dissatisfaction, claiming he had not been passing him the ball.

As per the lip readers on ‘El Dia Despues’, Vinicius told Alonso (via MARCA):

This is impossible; they [his teammates] have to pass the ball. Everyone here wants to dribble, and then they [Madridistas] boo me. Tell Gonzalo he has to pass it once. Not always, but at least once.

It is not the first time the Madridistas have expressed their displeasure towards the 25-year-old this season.

Real Madrid legend Jorge Valdano has advised Vinicius Jr. to improve his performances to silence the boo-boys.

Gonzalo Garcia vs Vinicius Jr. – A Game of Contrasts

Since his arrival, Kylian Mbappe has been an automatic pick for Real Madrid. As a result, Gonzalo Garcia has only featured sporadically under Xabi Alonso.

With the Frenchman ruled out of the Real Betis clash with an injury, Garcia started in attack alongside Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo, marking only his second LaLiga start this season. The Spaniard made the most of the opportunity, scoring an excellent hat-trick.

In the 20th minute, he steered Rodrygo’s perfectly taken free-kick into the bottom-left corner, giving Real Madrid the lead. He doubled his money five minutes into the second half, applying an emphatic finish to send Federico Valverde’s delivery into the corner.

Finally, in the 82nd minute, Garcia completed his hat-trick, cheekily sending Arda Guler’s through ball into the back of the net. Understandably, Garcia took home the match ball.

Rodrygo, who has seen his minutes reduced under Alonso, also impressed in the match, claiming two assists. Vinicius Jr., however, did not have a game to remember.

The 25-year-old forward only created one chance and had one shot, which was immediately blocked. He misplaced both his crosses and lost six of 13 duels.

Vinicius Jr. also committed three fouls and saw a yellow card before Alonso replaced him in the 77th minute. This performance does not bode well for a player already under immense pressure and heightened scrutiny.

Los Blancos want to keep him, but the Brazilian is holding off on an extension, demanding a better contract. According to reports, Vinicius Jr. wants to be the joint-highest earner alongside Mbappe.

However, ex-Madrid star Predrag Mijatovic has advised Real Madrid to sell Vinicius Jr. He believes the left-winger does not contribute enough to get such a massive bump in pay.
