Pavlyuchenko snubs Spurs

Russian striker Roman Pavlyuchenko’s proposed move to Tottenham looks to be on the rocks, because the striker doesn’t want to disrupt his young child by moving the family to London.

The news has been broken just day’s after Tottenham pulled out of a move involving Pavlyuchenko’s Russian team-mate, Andrei Arshavin.

Pavlyuchenko impressed during Euro 2008, and many Spurs fan’s believed that the striker would arrive at White Hart Lane as a replacement for Dimitar Berbatov, who is close to completing a move Manchester United.

“I can’t say anything concrete, since I don’t really know myself”.

“Everything is still being discussed. Maybe Spartak have already made a decision, but I haven’t decided one way or the other.”

” The move could be a problem for me and my family as we have a young child. We need to discuss it properly.”

“I will see what the offer is first, and then bring the whole process to a conclusion.”

Following Pavlyuchenko’s remarks, Tottenham are now believed to be pursuing South American striker’s Diego Forlan and Roque Santa Cruz. Both striker’s have Premier league experience. Uruguian Forlan used to play for Manchester United, whilst Paraguayan Santa Cruz plays his trade for Blackburn.
