Christian Panucci’s knee injury suffered in training yesterday seems to be not so bad and worries about the weak strength of the Azzurri defence may lighten up a bit. Panucci has rest assured the Azzurri fans that he will be back for Italy’s opener against the Oranje, a tricky test for Italy, yet match that is a must-win for them.
“I am better today. Yesterday I felt some pain in my tendon and decided to stop training so as not to aggravate the problem. Today I am better and there seem to be no problems.” The Roma defender is feeling optimistic about his return to training with the Azzurri and the injury succumbed in training seems not to be a problem for the defender.
Having lost Cannavaro to injury also in training, Panucci’s injury nearly seemed that the Italy team was cursed yet this news seem to revive some hopes and possbilities of tactics for Donadoni.
