Yet again we have another will he, won’t he situation in the transfer window and yet again it involves millions of pounds for one of Englands young stars.
Milner scoring for Villa
Milner has spent the past few weeks deciding whether to stay with Aston Villa or make a big money move to Eastlands and earn millions with Man City. Money aside, would it be a good move for the England midfielder?
The Leeds born youngster has been at Villa for two years and is enjoying probably his best form in his eight year career in the Premiership. Playing on the right hand side of midfield he has scored ten goals in 72 appearances for the West Midlands outfit and is guaranteed a starting place every week under Martin O’Neill. Why would he want to move to a club where that could not be the case?
He would be joining a midfield that includes Shaun Wright-Phillips, David Silva, Adam Johnson and a young and impressive Vladimir Weiss. Under the new Premier League rules teams have to name a 25 man squad which can only be changed during the transfer window. Will Mancini want possibly five right sided midfield players in his team?
Well with the club rumoured to be prepared to spend upto £30m on the youngster it appears that either the Italian will have five right sided midfielders or someone will be unlucky and miss out on the cut.
Lets be honest it will not be a surprise if we do see Milner move to City as we all know its all about money in football these days and players sometimes dont move to better their career which is a shame to see.
Here we have a player who has the ability to become one of Englands top players in the future, if he stays with or moves to the right club.
Where would Milner be better off? Staying with Villa or does he need a move to improve his career?
Only time will tell.
