According to a report from the Independent, Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane is interested in joining Manchester United.
It has been reported that the 28-year-old is a top summer target of the Red Devils, while Spain international Pau Torres is said to be an alternative.
However, the player’s wage demands are a stumbling block as he wants to earn around £400,000-a-week.
Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in Varane but he wants to move to the Premier League.
The talented defender made 31 La Liga appearances for Los Blancos last season, scoring twice (stats from Transfermarkt).
Varane is currently engaged with the national side in the European Championship, with the centre-back playing all three matches for France in the group stage.

The Norwegian boss will be looking to do better this season and wants to improve his squad by making new signings in the summer transfer window.
