Alex Jimenez Transfer Fee: How Much Bournemouth Will Pay to Real Madrid and AC Milan

Bournemouth are set to complete the permanent signing of Alex Jimenez later this week after the right-back moved within touching distance of triggering a mandatory purchase clause in his loan agreement.

The Cherries were busy during the January transfer window, adding Fraser Forster, Ade Solanke, Alex Toth and Brazilian striker Rayan — who arrived to replace Antoine Semenyo.

Now Jimenez is set to join them on Bournemouth’s list of permanent signings for 2026.

The 20-year-old joined the Cherries from AC Milan last September, initially on loan. The deal included a clause stipulating that Bournemouth would be obliged to make the transfer permanent once he reached a set number of Premier League appearances.

When that threshold is met, Bournemouth will be required to pay a transfer fee that will be split between Milan and Real Madrid, due to clauses dating back to Jimenez’s time in Madrid’s academy.

When will Alex Jimenez’s permanent transfer to Bournemouth be confirmed?

The deal is expected to be finalised as early as Saturday.

Jimenez’s loan agreement includes a mandatory purchase clause that must be activated if he features for at least 45 minutes in at least 50 per cent of Bournemouth’s Premier League matches.

Because Bournemouth had already played three of their 38 league games before Jimenez arrived, the threshold to activate the clause was set at 18 qualifying appearances.

Jimenez has already started 16 Premier League matches for Bournemouth and has established himself as a key player under Andoni Iraola.

He has been named in the starting XI for each of Bournemouth’s last 11 league games, with no indication he will be rotated out of the side any time soon.

As a result, the obligation-to-buy clause is expected to be triggered on Saturday, when the Cherries host Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium.

Alex Jimenez transfer fee to be shared between AC Milan and Real Madrid

Once Alex Jimenez makes his 18th qualifying Premier League appearance, Bournemouth will be required to complete the transfer for an initial fee of €19.5 million (£16.8m), plus a further €5m (£4.3m) in possible add-ons.

That fee will be split between AC Milan and Real Madrid, due to clauses carried over from Jimenez’s earlier move from Madrid to Milan.

Under the terms of the agreement, Milan will receive the first €5m of the fee. The remaining €14.5m, along with any payments relating to add-ons, will then be split equally between the Italian and Spanish clubs.

As a result, Milan are guaranteed a minimum of €12.25m, while Real Madrid will receive at least €7.25m.

Once the mandatory purchase clause is triggered, all remaining buy-back and matching-rights clauses will expire, leaving Bournemouth with full ownership of the player.

A five-year contract has already been pre-agreed, with the deal set to keep Jimenez at Bournemouth until June 2031.

Bournemouth are currently 12th in the Premier League, having finished 13th in the Premier League calendar year table for 2025.
