Bournemouth have agreed a £30 million fee with Brazilian club Vasco da Gama for the transfer of teenage forward Rayan.
The Cherries have held ‘intense talks’ regarding a potential move, with the 19-year-old keen to join the Premier League side.
Manager Andoni Iraola has been desperate to replace Antoine Semenyo, who joined Manchester City earlier this month.
Semenyo’s £65 million City switch has left a gaping hole in the Bournemouth attack.
The Ghanaian international scored 21 Premier League goals for the Cherries over the past season and a half.
But it looks like Semenyo’s replacement could soon be arriving, with Rayan a highly-rated young talent,
If the £30 million move is confirmed, it would be Bournemouth’s joint-second biggest transfer spend.
The current club record arrival is £32 million, which they paid for striker Evanilson in 2024.
Bournemouth Closing In On Deal For Brazilian Wonderkid Rayan
With 14 goals in 34 league games last season, Rayan is one of the top talents in the Brazilian league.
A Brazil youth international, the left-footed forward has attracted major interest from numerous clubs.
His arrival would continue a busy January window for Bournemouth.
The Cherries have already signed Hungarian international midfielder Alex Toth, and are in talks with Lazio goalkeeper Christos Mandas.
Alex Toth completed his medical and now signs at Bournemouth on a €12m plus add-ons deal.

With Bournemouth sat 15th in the table and 10 points clear of the bottom three, they should not be dragged into a relegation fight.
But one win in their last six games has seen them slip down the table.
They cannot afford to be complacent, so bringing in reinforcements this month feels like a smart move.
Have Bournemouth Found Their Antoine Semenyo Replacement?
Born in 2006, Rayan is still only 19 years old.
The young attacker has already played 99 times for Vasco da Gama’s first team, though.
In that time, he’s scored 25 goals and provided two assists.
A left-footed forward who usually plays off the right wing, he has been identified as an ideal Semenyo replacement.
But his age profile and lack of experience in Europe mean fans should temper their expectations somewhat.
It is rare for a player arriving from South America to immediately deliver the kind of numbers Semenyo was posting.
And for a teenager adapting to life in a new country and in a new language, some teething problems are natural.
Rayan is a signing with an immensely high ceiling, and the potential to develop into a world-call talent.
But Bournemouth must not demand too much from him too quickly.
Given time and allowed to develop his game, he may prove to be a superb signing.
The question is, how quickly can he deliver the results required, and how patient will Bournemouth be with him.
