Austin Work Permit Decision Due Tomorrow

It is likely that Stoke target Rudolph Austin will tomorrow find out if he is to be given the work permit neccessary for him to complate his move to the Potters. A fee of around £1 million was agreed with his club Portmore United in Jamaica and personal terms were agreed with Austin earlier this month and a work permit being granted will allow the move to be finalised.

The 22 year old Jamaican midfielder, who can also be used in a centre back or full back role has played more than 75% of Jamaica’s competitive international matches over the last two years but as Jamaica are currently ranked outside the top 70 in the world, a permit has not automaticaly been given.

Sources close to the player claim that Rudolph is confident of a permit being granted. A year ago, Austin’s move to Stoke fell through as a work permit was not granted, however the chances look better this time around as he has played more internationals since then, as he had missed some at the time due to injury and Stoke are now a Premier League club.
