This kind of follows on from the last article I wrote and it’s not been confirmed but last night Dimitar Berbatov reportedly handed in a transfer request.
If Spurs accept the request it all but leaves the door open for Berbatov to leave, with Manchester United the hot favourites to land the striker.
A friend of Berbatov is quoted in the Sun as saying: “Dimi’s decided to put in a transfer request. He can’t wait to go to Old Trafford and play for United.
“He feels he behaved professionally throughout his period. He has never spoken publicly on the situation out of respect for Tottenham.
“However, he does not want to miss out on the start of United’s season and he feels that was his only option left.”
Ramos is apparently set to sign either Roque Santa Cruz, Fredi Kanoute or Andrei Arshavin as a replacement for the sulky Bulgarian.
The news that Berbatov is set to leave could mean that Ramos will leave him out of the squad to play Middlesbrough with youngster Giovani Dos Santos set to start as a replacement.
