Batted Aussie’s beat Bahrain

Australia travelled to Bahrain to play a tough qualilfier which they were expecting. The home side didn’t let the Aussie’s down absolutly dominating their home turf for 92 and a half minutes.

Jaycee John was a massive problem for the Socceroos running through behind the defence or an acute angled shot getting chances glore only for Mark Schwarzer to save or for John to horribly miss.

Miss was the story of the night for John and his Bahrain team they fought super hard deserved the win but simply could not convert and they were punished.

In the 93rd minute 3 minutes into injury time Mark Bresciano got supplied with a long ball it bounced over a couple of defenders he controlled the ball beat one defender was about to shoot and be tackled and somehow gave the roos a 1-0 lead. A truely lucky and skillful moment that might I must stress might put the Aussies into the world cup (but not if they play like that again).

Australian line-up: Mark Schwarzer (gk), Lucas Neill, Tim Cahill (Mile Sterjovski 86’), Jason Culina, Luke Wilkshire, Josh Kennedy, Harry Kewell (Brett Holman 71’), David Carney, Chris Coyne (Jade North 68’), Carl Valeri, Mark Bresciano
