Bruno Stays As Kennedy Leaves

The Leicester Mercury has stated this morning that fans favourite Bruno Berner has put pen to paper, as the former Blackburn Rovers player has decided to stay at the Walkers Stadium for another year. Berner has started every game since Greg Cunningham’s horrific leg break, the Swiss left-back was chosen in the starting 11 against Swansea City earlier this month, and a solid performance against the Welsh side was praised by manager Sven Goran Eriksson.

Berner still stated that he was still likely to leave Leicester City later this month, with a number of Championship and League 1 clubs rumoured to be interested in the player; however fortunes have now changed as Bruno has decided to stay with Leicester City.

In other transfer news, Peterborough United has landed left-back Tom Kennedy on loan until the end of the season. Kennedy was signed from Rochdale in the Summer transfer window, but under Sven Goran Eriksson the 25 year old has failed to make an impression.

Meanwhile the race for Martyn Waghorn could finally be solved in the next couple of days, depending on an injury to Darius Vassell the former Sunderland striker could be set to join Preston North End or Derby County on a loan deal. Sky Sports News also understands that Birmingham City are still interested in signing midfielder Richie Wellens, even though Leicester manager Sven Goran Eriksson said the player is not for sale.
