West Ham are set to benefit for a Burnley injury crisis ahead of Saturday’s vital Premier League clash – with the hosts missing up to six players.
It’s been a season to forget for both West Ham United and Burnley.
The pair sit 18th and 19th in the Premier League, six and 11 points from safety respectively.
West Ham’s 48 goals conceded is the most in the league, one more than Burnley.
With both sides leaking goals, relegation is looking. West Ham’s failed move for defender Natan on Deadline Day was an indication of their desperation to improve at the back.
But if there was any game for them to keep a clean sheet and secure three points, it’s this weekend.
Newly-promoted Burnley sit one place below the Irons in the table.
And a win for West Ham could see them move to within toughing distance of Nottingham Forest.
What’s more, Burnley are set to be missing up to half a dozen players this weekend.
Irons boss Nuno Espirito Santo’s relegation clause means the club are unlikely to sack him before the end of the season.
But they must capitalise on opportunities like this to avoid the drop.
West Ham Benefit From Burnley Injury Problems
For Nuno Espirito Santo, it’s a clean bill of health as far as injuries are concerned.
The only confirmed absentee will be Jean-Clair Todibo, who is serving a ban for violent conduct after last weekend’s 3-2 loss at Chelsea.

Adama Traore and Konstantinos Mavropanos were also involved in the fracas at Stamford Bridge, but have escaped punishment.
But Burnley are less fortunate when it comes to availability.
The Clarets are reportedly missing as many as six players for this weekend’s relegation six-pointer at Turf Moor.
Burnley Injury News Ahead Of West Ham Clash
Ex-West Ham man Josh Cullen is out for the foreseeable with an ACL injury.
He will be joined on the sidelines by Zeki Amdouni, Jordan Beyer, Connor Roberts and Mike Tresor.
And in a further blow for Scott Parker’s side, West Ham loanee James Ward-Prowse is ineligible to face his parent club.

The result is a heavily-depleted Burnley team, low on confidence.
West Ham will need to capitalise on opportunities like this if they want any hope of survival.
Nottingham Forest’s recent form (W2 D2) means the gap to safety remains at six points for the Irons.
And with Forest heading to fellow strugglers Leeds, who they trail on goal difference alone, West Ham could reduce the deficit to three points.
There is still a mountain to climb for the Hammers to avoid the drop.
But failing to put away an understrength Burnley side will surely be the final nail in their coffin.
