Roberto Donadoni was deemed to be unhappy by Buffon’s attitude after Italy’s match especially when he went on to say that it was Italy’s worst match in nearly twelve years. This will thus result in Buffon being removed from Italy captain but actually it won’t be that harsh on him as the captain’s armband will go to Alex Del Piero who has more caps than Italy’s number one. Del Piero will feature against Romania from the first minute and this will hand him the captain’s armband to lead Italy to their first needed victory in Euro 2008.
Del Piero had earlier claimed that he is feeling that he is ready to captain Italy and the moment has finally come for the Golden Boy who after nearly missing out on even being selected by Don for Euro 2008 now goes on to become Italy Captain.
