Dyer Salvages Point However How Good Is He?

When Bristol City’s, David Clarkson scored what seemed to be the winning goal at Ashton Gate last night, the game soon turned on its head a minute later, as Lloyd Dyer’s well worked finish stunned the Bristol City faithful. The game ended up as a well fought 1-1 draw, however for the both of the sides managers they will both have different views, on the outcome of that game.

However, Lloyd Dyer did score the “Foxes” only goal in that match, so I want to hear your opinions… How good is Leicester City’s winger, Lloyd Dyer?

Lloyd Dyer was signed by manager Nigel Pearson, in last season’s summer transfer window, Dyer signed for the Foxes on a three year deal on the 1st, July, 2008. The winger they made his debut against his former club the Mk Dons on the opening day of the 08/09 season, a game which the “Foxes” were able to win, 2-0. Dyer’s first goal for Leicester proved to be one of four, against Cheltenham Town in the first month of last season. Lloyd Dyer was able to net 10 goals last season throughout all competitions, and some of his most notable goals came against the big clubs in League 1.

Dyer scored the winning goal against Colchester; he also scored a stoppage time winner against Huddersfield Town in what proved to be an emphatic 3-2 win for Leicester that day. Dyer also scored the first goal against fellow promoted side Scunthorpe on the 22/11/2008. At the back end of last season, Dyer was a key factor in Leicester’s promotion push, as he scored in a crucial 3-1 win away to Hereford and to cap off a great season for Lloyd Dyer, he netted in the final league game of the season against Crewe. Dyer was one of the better for Leicester last season, however considering it’s a big step up from League 1 level to Championship level, some Leicester fans including myself thought how well would Lloyd Dyer do in this season’s Coca Cola Championship?

Even though Lloyd Dyer was one of the best Leicester players last season, this season has been a whole different story. So far Dyer has had a hit and miss season, on the other hand in the last couple of months, Dyer has been more of a hit with the Leicester City fans. Leicester match day commentator Ian Stringer, was so surprised by Lloyd Dyer’s pace in one game, he has compared him as Leicester City’s very own Usain Bolt.

Over the past month or so I for one have been impressed with Dyer’s performances, and to be honest it all started in a live Sky Sports game against Sheffield United, where Dyer was able to tear the Blades right-back, Kyle Walker to shreds. Also in the highly contested 0-0 draw against Newcastle, Lloyd Dyer was definitely one of the best players on the pitch in that game. Also the winger has found his goalscoring touch again, as he is currently on a goalscoring record of two goals in four games. Dyer scored one of the goals in a 2-1 win over Blackpool only a couple of weeks ago, and last night he was able to steal a point on Leicester’s behalf, only a minute after David Clarkson put Bristol City ahead. The “Blue Army” has been impressed with Dyer’s displays recently, as some fans have marked him as one of the most feared wingers throughout the whole of Coca Cola Championship.

So I want your opinions please…How Good Is Lloyd Dyer?
