Fulham Ready To Step Up Contract Talks With In-Form Star Harry Wilson

Fulham are preparing to offer key man Harry Wilson a bumper new contract in a bid to keep the highly-rated midfielder.

Wilson’s current deal expires in the summer, with his current club desperate to keep him.

Wales international Wilson’s Fulham future had been uncertain throughout the January transfer window.

But the 28-year-old is set to stay until at least the end of the season, despite interest from several rivals.

Leeds were keen on Wilson over the summer, and were expected to re-ignite that interest in January.

But Fulham made it clear they would not sell the winger mid-season, also rejecting an approach from Everton.

Manager Marco Silva stated there was “zero chance” of Wilson being sold in January.

Now the window has closed, the club are ready to step up talks with Wilson over a new contract.

Talks have been ongoing, but with Wilson in electric form, speculation has been growing over his future.

Uncertainty Over Marco Silva Sparks Wilson Speculation

With eight goals and four assists so far this season in the Premier League, Harry Wilson is enjoying his best campaign in a Fulham shirt.

But the fact that manager Silva’s contract also expires this summer has led to rumours of both leaving.

Wilson was Silva’s first signing at the club back in 2021, and the two are very close.

But the Fulham boss has dismissed suggestions that his future will affect Wilson’s contract talks.

Speaking in December, Silva said of Wilson: “He has been very important for us, is showing his quality again and let’s hope we can renew.”

After a Deadline Day move to Leeds fell through in the summer, Wilson has been excellent for Fulham this season.

He has spoken publicly about his happiness at the club, and negotiations remain positive.

“Fulham is somewhere I wanted somewhere to call home,” said Wilson previously.

“For the last four-and-a-half years, it’s somewhere I’ve been really, really happy here.”

Fulham Hope To Add Harry Wilson To Latest New Contract Successes

Securing a new deal for Harry Wilson will be a big step for Fulham this season.

They have already tied down several key men to new deals. Rodrigo Muniz signed a new contract in October, while Kenny Tete, Tom Cairney and Josh King also extended their deals.

But with Wilson’s contract up in the summer, he may be tempted to look elsewhere.

The Welsh international could be a very attractive prospect to top clubs, especially given he would be available for free.

Fulham signed Oscar Bobb from Manchester City during the January window, so there is clearly no lack of ambition.

But given Wilson’s form this season, settling his long-term future at the club remains a top priority.

Wilson has made 173 appearances since joining the London outfit from Liverpool.

In that time, he’s registered 34 goals and 43 assists in all competitions.
