Italy coach Roberto Donadoni has extended his contract with the Italy squad for another two years. As well as announcing the 24-man that would travel to Austria and Switzerland next month, Italy FA president Giancarlo Abete announced that Donadoni’s contract has been renewed for a further two years although there is a clause that could be used if Donadoni misperfoms during the upcoming European Championships.
“We have agreed on a two year extension with mutual rescission clause in the deal that allows the FIGC and Donadoni to part company without repercussions within 10 days of the end of Euro 2008.”Â
Meanwhile Donadoni expressed his delight at the contract extension.
“I want to thank Abete for recognising my work,” said the Azzurri coach.
“If the European Championship goes badly I will leave – there is no need for a clause.”
