Leicester City Striker Search

With the season finished and a success of promotion back to the Championship, Nigel and Milan need to get there money out on Strikers. As our strikers struggled to score last time when Leicester was in the Championship, hopefully some new signings can keep us up this time. So here are a few names which have been flying around with a possible move to the Foxes.

Stern John – The Southampton striker was an early name which was rumoured about a move to Leicester. Stern John spent most of last season on loan at Bristol City. However he might just well be needed at Southampton as they try to get back in the Championship at there first attempt. He is getting on a bit at the age of 32. He is powerful and is capable of scoring goals. However he isn’t a striker with much pace.

Francisco Sandaza – Francisco Sandaza of Dundee United has also been linked with a possible move to Leicester. The Spanish striker has been at Dundee United since 2008. However it is also known that many Spanish clubs are interested in the Striker. He might favour a move to Spain instead of staying in the UK. He might be a decent buy, but a move to Spain is more likely.

Simon Cox – The Swindon striker had a wonderful season and was joint top scorer in League 1. Cox scored some great goals this year which has caught the attention of Leicester, Celtic, West Brom and other clubs. It would be a great buy for Leicester and he would work wonders with Fryatt and Howard up front. However he might well favour a move to a bigger club like Celtic. Even if Leicester sign the striker he could well move the next season if the Foxes under perform in the Championship.

Leroy Lita – Following his release from Reading Leroy Lita is looking for a new club. The striker could do well at Leicester with his power and his pace and he is great at scoring goals aswell. He has been on loan at Norwich and Charlton in the same season; he did very well at Norwich scoring 7 goals in 16 games. However he could well attract other clubs in the Championship and he could well sign for one of them. He is a striker worth looking at and hopefully Nigel Pearson opts to sign him.
