The Football League season is one week and one day away from kick off. Personally I can’t wait as I think it will be a fantastic season. However I concentrate on my team Leicester City as they kick off there Championship reunion against Swansea City.
So what has been going on at Leicester City in recent weeks, well I will tell you. The Blue Army played two Friendly games this week. Firstly they played Shrewsbury and Leicester walked out 4-0 winners thanks to goals by, Lloyd Dyer (2), Jack Hobbs and Dany N’Guessan. On Tuesday the Foxes had to fight for a 1-0 win against Chesterfield. Dany N’Guessan again scored a late winner. Leicester City plays Real Valladolid in four day’s time. That is when the fans get to see the new team in action, as new signings Richie Wellens and Dany N’Guessan will be on show.
On the transfer front, Leicester has been involved in a tussle for Striker Leroy Lita. Leicester were rumoured to be one of 10 clubs linked with the popular striker, however it seems Lita will make a move to Sheffield United as Billy Sharp is set to leave the Blades sometime soon. The Foxes have also been linked with Kevin Phillips of Birmingham. The striker is 35 and reports say Leicester will make a 750,000 bid for Phillips sometime soon. Leicester has also been linked with French striker Yann Kermorgant. Kermorgant is currently a free transfer and the player himself has said he has already held talks with the Foxes already. Lastly Hartlepool midfielder Ritchie Jones has also been linked with Leicester. However it is unlucky that he will come as Leicester have already got 6 centre midfielders already.
However the talking point is who is going to be the new Striker at Leicester City or maybe two Strikers could be on the way. Names to be linked with Leicester include, Lita who is going to Sheffield United, Simeon Jackson of Gillingham, Yann Kermorgant who is a free agent and Jermaine Beckford of Leeds. On the other hand Leicester could well sign any Striker from the Premiership, Championship or even League One. Two men who I would look at are Caleb Folan of Hull and Mamady Sidibe of Stoke. However only time will tell and hopefully a Striker will be signed tomorrow or next week.
