After a delightful 2-1 win over the Netherlands the Aussie team followed up with an impressive start to stage 4 of the World Cup Qualifiers with a 1-0 away win over Uzbekistan.
The Socceroo’s dominated the game a fully deserved the win with a reasonable finish by Scott Chipperfield in the 26th minute giving the Aussies the lead and the win. Scott ran into the box unmarked headed the ball into the ground at about the penalty spot the ball bounced hit the post and went into the top corner.
It sets the Aussies on their way to a World Cup spot but there is still a lot of work to be done with tough conditions and teams to battle on the way to South Africa.
Australia face Qatar in Brisbane on 15 October a team they beat twice in the first round of qualifiers it is all different now though this is the serious stuff for the actual spots it will be an interesting match but you think the Aussie’s would have the edge at home I predict a 2-0 win if Qatar perform 2-1.
