Were they worth the money?

After the 2-1 defeat to ‘Boro I thought that I would take a look at how the new Spurs players fared…

Heurelho Gomes. Was solid in goal for Tottenham and made some good saves. Couldn’t be faulted for either Middlesbrough goal. Looked more comfortable then Paul Robinson in the Tottenham goal.

Luka Modric. Didn’t have the best of games. Failed to show the class he showed for Croatia at Euro 2008. Never the less, he looked impressive at times and is sure to benifit from more Premier league experience.

David Bentley. Was easily Tottenham’s best player. Was a constant threat and started many attacks. Looked comfortable and had a wonderful shot parried in the second half by ‘Boro keeper Jones. Tottenham’s man of the match.

Giovani Dos Santos. Looked very exciting at times. Showed a few flashes of brilliance but drifted in and out of the game. However he’s still young and if he’s given his fair share of experience he could turn into a very good player.
