West Ham make £30m transfer bid for Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran

Aston Villa star Jhon Duran has been a subject of transfer interest from West Ham United who are in the market for a quality striker.

The Lions are ready to cash in on the 20-year-old to boost their transfer budget as they aim to secure another top-four Premier League finish in 2024-25.

The Colombia international featured in 23 league appearances last season, but most of them came off the bench.

He has a contract at Villa Park until 2028 but the Midlands club are prepared to let him leave for £40 million this summer.

Latest reports from The Athletic claim West Ham have made a £30m offer plus teenager Lewis Orford in a move to sign Jhon Duran.

The young centre-forward has already agreed personal terms with the Hammers, and they are now negotiating a deal with Villa.

Orford is a promising youngster who has made six EFL Trophy appearances for the Irons’ academy team and has also represented England at under-18 level.

However, it remains to be seen whether Unai Emery’s side are ready to accept West Ham’s latest offer.

The Lions are under no pressure to sell as they have already confirmed departures of Douglas Luiz and Moussa Diaby in big money transfers.

The Midlands outfit have also moved on Tim Iroegbunam and Omari Kellyman to Everton and Chelsea respectively.

But they have added some top talents to the squad including Amadou Onana, Jaden Philogene, Ian Maatsen, Lewis Dobbin and Samuel Iling-Junior.
