Tottenham are readying a bid for RB Leipzig attacker Yan Diomande as the look to replace the outgoing Brennan Johnson.
On Tuesday, news broke that Spurs winger Brennan Johnson was set to leave the club.
Crystal Palace have agreed a £35 million fee with Spurs for the Welsh international.
Although the player is yet to commit to the move, sources indicate he will depart in January.
As a result, Tottenham are on the hunt for a replacement, and appear to have identified their man.
Nineteen-year-old RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande is the name circulating at present.
The five-cap Ivory Coast international is valued at an eye-watering £87 million by Bundesliga outfit Leipzig.
But Spurs are keen to negotiate, and have made signing a replacement for Johnson a major priority.
Crystal Palace Agree Johnson Fee But Player Must Decide
After scoring the winner in last year’s Europe League final, many expected Brennan Johnson to kick on.
But the 24-year-old has been limited to substitute appearances for most of this season.
New boss Thomas Frank has not found a place for him in the starting XI, with a move away from North London looking increasingly likely.
With just six starts in the Premier League this term, new arrival Mohamed Kudus has usurped Johnson’s position.

As a result, several clubs have been monitoring his situation.
Aston Villa entered talks for Johnson last week, but it’s Palace than now lead the way.
Everton and Bournemouth also hold an interest, but the final decision rests with the player.
With Spurs setting a clear asking price, Johnson can decide his next destination from the clubs willing to meet it.
But wherever he ends up, Tottenham’s need for a replacement is obvious.
Tottenham Lining Up Yan Diomande As Johnson Replacement
Multiple sources now indicate that Yan Diomande is Tottenham’s preferred Johnson replacement.
Despite making his senior club debut just this year, the Ivorian has impressed greatly.
He joined Leipzig from Spanish outfit Leganes in 2024, and the teenager has quickly become a key figure.
Diomande notched up seven goals and four assists from 16 games last season, even scoring a hat-trick against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Liverpool are also believed to be keen on signing the youngster, who is currently away at AFCON with the Ivory Coast.
But his monster £87 million price tag is off putting for the Premier League champions, who spent big over the summer.
Spurs may not be willing to pay such a figure either, but it is thought they would come closer to matching what Leipzig are after.
This one looks far from a straightforward deal, though, and could rumble on until late in the window – if not the summer.
