6: Demy de Zeeuw

Demy de Zeeuw is 25 years old and he plays as a central midfielder for AZ Alkmaar. He was born in Apeldoorn on the 25th May 1983, and is 1.74 metres tall and weighs 71 kilograms. Since starting his professional football career in 2001 at Go Ahead Eagles, Demy has played for two clubs, with the other club being AZ Alkmaar from 2005 until today. He has impressed everyone with his performances for AZ Alkmaar in the 2007/08 season.

This led to an international call-up during the Euro 2008 qualifiers. He made his debut on the 28th March 2007 in a European qualifier match against Slovenia, which was won by the score of 1-0 thanks to a goal by Giovanni van Bronckhorst. Demy was called for the Euro 2008 squad as back-up in the case of injuries. He did not expect to play much part in the campaign. Due to the good results obtained by Holland which led to securing the first place in Group C, de Zeeuw was one of the fringe players that played in the last group-stage match against Romania, which was won by the score of 2-0. He played in the number 6 jersey and registered 16 caps until this summer.
