Leicester City football club have today confirmed that Nigel Pearson has joined Hull City on a three year deal; Pearson will be unveiled as the new manager of Hull on Wednesday. Pearson may also take his back room staff with him; they include Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh.
After a very successful two season spell at the “Foxes” Pearson has shockingly called time on his Leicester career, the former Southampton boss joined Leicester at the beginning of the 2008/2009 season and saw his side finish top of the League 1 table. Last season Pearson proved his worthy class by taking Leicester into the Coca Cola Championship play-offs, only to lose out on penalties to Cardiff.
The news has come as a huge shock to Leicester City fans, and even Leicester City chairman Milan Mandaric who today stated, “We were greatly surprised to receive the initial approach from Hull. The past few years have been a turbulent time for both me and the supporters at Leicester City.”

The fans of the “Foxes” have also stated their desire on certain players and certain possible managers to take over at the club. The fans have said that it is crucial to keep hold of the key players including Jack Hobbs, Matty Fryatt and Andy King. Also the Blue Army have expressed their feelings towards certain managers, including Micky Adams, Iain Dowie and Sean O’Driscoll. The fans have stated in the past that they wouldn’t be too keen to see Iain Dowie take to the hot seat at the Walkers Stadium, while Micky Adams could well re join the club after a six year absence. Lastly the likes of Sean O’Driscoll, Alan Curbishley, Tony Mowbray and Nigel Adkins are all popular choices with the Leicester fans.
The club will be hoping to take another step in the right direction after Pearson’s strange departure, however with a short budget and the unlikely aspect of taking a manager from another club straying out of the window it could well be hard times ahead for Leicester City, while Nigel Pearson is all set on taken upon a new challenge with Hull City, hoping to get the “Tigers” promoted back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
