Leicester City are set to make a move for two free agents, as former Swansea City midfielder Andrea Orlandi and ex Watford centre back Jay Demerit, could well be making a move to the Walkers Stadium in the next couple of days.
Orlandi is a name which has been tracked by Paulo Sousa for a good number of weeks, and it is believed that Leicester are set to sign the former Swansea midfielder on a free transfer. Orlandi who played under Sousa at the Championship side spent a season on loan to Barcelona in the season 2006-2007; however he only made one appearance. Orlandi is highly rated and he can play anywhere across the midfield, due to the fact that Sousa had the 25 year old at Swansea it is highly likely that they will join up again this time at Leicester.
Meanwhile former Watford centre back and United States international Jay Demerit is also looking for a new club; Demerit was released by Watford at the end of the 09/10 season. The 30 year old is rumoured to be interested in a move to the Walkers Stadium, and a deal could well be done by the beginning of next week. Paulo Sousa has already signed one centre back this season, that being a loan deal for Benfica youngster Miguel Vitor. Demerit spent six years at Vicarage Road making 182 appearances for the “Hornets”, the United States international took part in all of USA World Cup group game fixtures, including the match against England.
Also Leicester striker Yann Kermorgant is reported to have agreed a deal with a French side over a possible loan move, while the “Foxes” have missed out on the signature of Hugo Colace who decided to opt upon a new deal with Barnsley.
