Everton Closing In On 30-Goal Attacker David Moyes Has Labelled ‘Incredible’

Everton are in advanced talks to sign Fenerbahce striker Youssef En-Nesyri before the end of the January transfer window.

As the winter window rolls on, Everton remain in the market for a goalscorer.

They have been linked to the likes of former Brentford man Ivan Toney, as well as Wolves’ Jorgen Strand-Larsen.

However, it appears they may be turning their attention to Turkey in order to secure a highly-rated forward.

Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri scored 30 goals for Fenerbahce in all competitions last season.

The 28-year-old has big admirers at Everton, particularly in David Moyes.

And it looks like the Toffees boss might soon be linking up with a player he’s praised heavily in the past.

Elsewhere, Everton lead the race for Genk defender Zakaria El Ouahdi, who is also tipped to join this window.

Everton Closing In On Youssef En-Nesyri Signing

According to multiple reports, Everton are in advanced talks over a deal to sign En-Nesyri.

The Merseyside outfit have offered Fenerbahce an initial loan deal for the 6’2 forward.

Everton would then have an option to buy En-Nesyri for around £17 million in the summer.

David Moyes’ admiration for the Moroccan stretched back to his time in charge of West Ham.

During the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Moyes sung En-Nesyri’s praises, and remains a big fan.

“In Youssef En-Nesyri, they [Morocco] have a centre forward who is an incredibly good runner and gives them an outlet,” Moyes said.

It’s obvious that the Toffees boss admires En-Nesyri, and has been keeping tabs on him since.

And that interest is not unfounded.

What Would En-Nesyri Bring To Everton?

There are plenty of reasons Everton would do well to sign Youssef En-Nesyri.

With more than 200 La Liga appearances, the former Sevilla striker scored 69 times in Spain’s top flight, and has netted a combined 22 times in European competitions.

A proven goalscorer at the highest level, En-Nesyri has delivered in multiple countries.

He is a clear and significant upgrade on current Everton strikers Beto and Thierno Barry.

And at 28, he has plenty of years left and is likely at the peak of his career right now.

His aerial prowess, hold-up play and finishing suit Moyes’ system, and he could help Barry’s development greatly.

If Everton are able to secure him on loan with a future buy option, it would be a superb deal.

Although expected to do well in the Premier League, such an arrangement would mitigate any risk should En-Nesyri fail to deliver.

This signing seems like a smart move for the Toffees, and one that would help them continue to push for European football this season.
