Bournemouth Make £25 Million Move For Turkish Attacker As Semenyo Replacement

Yilmaz bournemouth

Premier League side Bournemouth have launched a bid for Galatasaray attacker Baris Alper Yilmaz.

Reports from Turkey indicate that the Cherries have made a bid of around £25 million for the Turkish international.

Twenty-five-year-old forward Yilmaz has been identified as a replacement for the outgoing Antoine Semenyo.

This week, the highly-rated Semenyo joined Manchester City, leaving a big void in Bournemouth’s forward line.

Yilmaz, who can play cross the front three, is the preferred option to fill that hole.

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola is keen to bring Yilmaz to the South Coast this window.

And given the £62.5 million received for Semenyo, The Cherries have plenty of budget with which to find an alternative.

Galatasaray Want At Least £35 Million For Bournemouth Target Yilmaz

But while the £25 million bid reportedly sent by Bournemouth is not insignificant, Galatasaray are holding out for more.

The Turkish club are believed to be disappointed with Bournemouth’s opening offer – which will be rejected.

Galatasaray will only enter negotiations if they receive an offer in excess of €40 million, (approx. £35 million).

With a Yilmaz under contract until 2028, Istanbul side Galatasaray are under no pressure to sell cheaply.

The 31-cap attacker has registered a combined 59 goals and assists in 179 appearances for the club.

Interest in his services is not limited to Bournemouth, either.

Clubs across Europe are monitoring his situation, while several Saudi clubs are also thought to be keen.

What Would Baris Alper Yilmaz Brign To Bournemouth?

Should Bournemouth get their man, they would be landing a top talent.

Equally adept at finishing chances as he is at fashioning them for others, Yilmaz has been superb this season.

He has notched up five goals and nine assists in 23 total appearances already – including six Champions League games.

His versatility is highly desirable, with experience covering at wing-back as well as his preferred advanced roles.

A Premier League move has been a long-term goal for Yilmaz, who looks ready to step up.

Bournemouth are in need of a top-level replacement for Antoine Semenyo, and they may just have found one.

Antoine Semenyo manchester city

Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo has joined Manchester City.

The question remains, however, of whether they are willing to match Galatasaray’s valuation.

A £35 million outlay – or greater – would smash the Cherries’ transfer record.

That currently stands at £31 million, which Bournemouth paid up front for striker Evanilson in 2024.

However, if the club wish to continue the excellent progress made under Iraola, they will have to reinvest the Semenyo money on quality players.

If not, this season has shown how quickly mid-table clubs like West Ham can face relegation.

Bournemouth are not in danger of that this season, but will need to strengthen in order to remain ahead of their rivals.
