Bournemouth Plotting £26 Million Raid For West Ham Target To Replace Antoine Semenyo

Bournemouth are lining up a move for Real Betis winger Pablo Garcia, who has also been targeted by West Ham.

Nineteen-year-old forward Garcia is reported to have a release clause of just €30 million (£26m), opening the door for Premier League clubs to swoop in and sign the youngster.

A highly-rated prospect with a big future ahead of him, Spanish under-21 international Garcia has already attracted significant interest.

But with a clear price tag that many view is well below his value, talk of a possible move is gathering pace.

Real Betis sit sixth in La Liga, but the attraction of a Premier League offer may be enough to tempt Garcia away.

And the nature of his release clause simplifies often long and complicated January negotiations.

Bournemouth Considering Pablo Garcia As Semenyo Replacement

For Bournemouth, the appeal of Pablo Garcia is obvious,

A pacy, skilful attacker that can operate on either flank, he is exactly what Andoni Iraola’ side have lost in Antoine Semenyo.

Semenyo joined Manchester City earlier this month after they triggered his £65m release clause.

Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo has joined Manchester City.

But now it looks like Bournemouth might soon be the beneficiaries of a similar clause in Garcia’s contract.

Paying £26 million for an immensely talented young forward with massive potential feels like a smart move for the Cherries.

With one eye on the future, Bournemouth are keen to land a player who can help them now, while gaining value for any resale in the years to come.

West Ham Will Challenge Bournemouth For Garcia

However, it won’t be a simple pursuit for Bournemouth.

Turkish club Galatasaray are believed to be keen on Garcia, and stepping up their interest.

Meanwhile, Premier League rivals West Ham are also interested, and are in dire need of attacking quality.

The Irons are 18th in the table and locked in a relegation battle.

They have been poor going forwards, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side frequently being blunt and predictable.

West Ham Pablo Garcia

West Ham have been dire this season and desperately need reinforcements.

And given Garcia’s release clause, the young Betis forward is an appealing target.

But it’s defensively where West Ham need to prioritise. They have conceded a Premier League high 44 goals in 22 games.

Garcia would undoubtedly sharpen the Irons in the final third, but their budget may be better spent at the other end of the field.

Is Pablo Garcia Ready For A Premier League Move?

At 19 years old, Garcia remains extremely raw and inexperienced.

He only broke into the Real Betis first team last season. So far, Garcia has made just 25 senior appearances in all competitions.

The winger is yet to register a goal or assist in La Liga, and is far from a ready-made Antoine Semenyo replacement for Bournemouth.

But given his extremely high ceiling and immense raw talent, the Cherries may still be tempted into a move.

For West Ham, the need for instant ability is more dire.

The Irons do not have the luxury of mid-table security, and need goals and assists from day one.

Putting that level of pressure onto an unproven teenager feels like a huge gamble, and an unnecessary one.

Garcia may prove ready and able to adapt to the Premier League from the off.

But it feels more likely that his development will need to be managed, with a possible loan move to guarantee minutes.

West Ham may not be the best place for him right now, then. And Bournemouth might need a player with more immediate impact to replace Semenyo.

But if either club does pull the trigger and activate his release clause, they will be signing a top young talent.
