Everton are interested in a late January move for 23-year-old Sheffield United fullback Femi Seriki before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Toffees manager David Moyes has been keen to add to his squad during the winter window.
With Everton tenth in the Premier League table and firmly in the hunt for European football, getting the right players in is crucial.
Fullback has been a particular area of concern, with injuries forcing centre-back Jake O’Brien to operate out of position at times.
Everton bid for Genoa fullback Brooke Norton-Cuffy last week, though there has been little progress since.
It’s therefore no surprise to see them turn their attention elsewhere, with Seriki now a priority target.
Everton Interested In Sheffield United’s Femi Seriki
Femi Seriki is the latest in a long list of fullbacks linked to Everton.
The Sheffield United academy graduate has made over 50 appearances since breaking through at Bramall Lane.
Most of those have been in the past 18 months, where he has really cemented his place in the squad.
Seriki has played in 22 Championship games for the Blades this season, scoring his first goal for the club in December’s 4-0 win against Stoke City.

He also provided three assists last month in an impressive festive period, with another on New Year’s Day.
His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Premier League clubs keeping a close eye.
And although contracted through to 2027, he has now become a serious target for Everton.
Sheffield United Hoping To Ward Off Everton Interest
It will not be easy for the Toffees to secure Seriki, though.
Sheffield United do not want to sell, and are desperate to keep a homegrown young star.
The Manchester-born defender has proven his worth for the Blades, and looks destined for the Premier League.
But unless he is willing to sign a new contract, Sheffield United are in a weak position.

They may be forced to cash in on Seriki now, rather than lose him for free in 18 months.
But Everton are yet to put in a concrete offer, despite their interest being well-known.
The lack of defensive depth available to David Moyes has been a major problem, though.
Earlier in the window, Everton were linked to Genk’s Zakaria El Ouahdi, but news on that front has also gone quiet.
Seriki would therefore be a signing that makes sense for the Toffees.
Should he arrive on Merseyside, Everton would be getting a gifted young fullback with massive potential.
