Watford have announced the signing of Tottenham youngster Danny Rose on loan until the end of the season. In other transfer news Liam Henderson has rejoined the Hornets after his spell at Hartlepool United.

Rose is an attacking midfielder who can play out wide or through the middle.

The 18 year old joined Tottenham from Leeds United at the beginning of last season after completing his scholarship at Elland Road.

He has since featured regularly for the reserves and was called up to the first-team squad for Tottenham’s Premiership clash with Sunderland.

His progress at Tottenham earnt him an England Under-18 call up in April 2008.

Manager Brendan Rodgers was first made aware of the young star during his time with Leeds.

“He is highly thought of in this country and at the time I first looked at him he decided to stay at Leeds and then, later on, went to Tottenham,” said Rodgers.

“As a footballer he has got a big talent. He has been out injured for a little while but we have taken him for a look at him with a view to next season as well.

“He has good energy and real intelligence with the ball. Technically he’s a good player, but he has commitment and it is very important players have that.

“I want players you can trust and that are hard-working and he fits the bill.”

A player Rose will be meeting at Vicarage Road will be Liam Henderson after he rejoined the Golden Boys from Hartlepool.

The academy graduate joined ‘Pool in January and made eight league appearances plus a substitute appearance against West Ham United in the FA Cup.
