It’s good news for Brighton fans ahead of Saturday’s trip to Liverpool, with Kaoru Mitoma set to return from injury.
Japanese international Mitoma, 28, has not appeared for the Seagulls since September.
The forward injured his ankle in Brighton’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
But he has now been declared fit to play this weekend, and is expected to be involved against the champions.
Brighton will need him to hit the ground running on Saturday at Anfield, a ground they have won at just once since 1983.
It promises to be an even and intriguing encounter, with both sides level on 23 points.
Brighton’s late goals have been a feature of their season, and there’s every possibility of another grandstand finish this weekend.
With the game likely to be decided by small margins, the return of a player who registered 14 Premier League goal contributions last season could be crucial for Brighton.
Brighton Boss Fabian Hurzeler Provides Karou Mitoma Injury Update
Seagulls manager Hurzeler said last month that Mitoma was “very close” to a return.
It’s taken longer than expected since then, but he has now finally been cleared to play this weekend.
Hurzeler said: “He overcame the pain issue and he trained well this week, so he will be an option.”

The German coach added that a consistent run of games will be vital for Mitoma and others over the busy festive period.
“I think it’s important to have availability, but much more important is to keep the availability.
“So having the availability for one game is good, but it has to be consistent through this period.
“It is just important to keep the availability, not only one game, so therefore we try to keep working hard for them.
“But it’s a really good start, that we have this availability back and now we have to do everything we can to keep pushing through this phase of the season.”
Brighton Injury List Remains Lengthy Despite Returning Stars
Karou Mitoma isn’t the only Brighton star set to return to the side.
Former Liverpool man James Milner is available, along with Tommy Watson and Yasin Ayari.
But Danny Welbeck will be the only recognised senior striker for Hurzeler to select from.

All three of Adam Webster, Solly March and Stefanos Tzimas remain sidelined.
Summer arrival Tzimas joined from FC Nurnberg, and had just began to make an impact for his new club.
But a torn ACL means he will now miss the remainder of the season.
“He will have surgery. We have big trust in in the doctors, and we have big trust in the medical department,” Hurzerler explained.
“We are quite convinced that he will be back as quick as possible and even in better shape.”
Brighton’s game against Liverpool will kick off at 15:00 at Anfield on Saturday.
