Manchester United will now be missing six players against Aston Villa this weekend after Casemiro earned a suspension in Monday’s 4-4 draw with Bournemouth.
This Sunday sees Aston Villa host United at Villa Park in the Premier League, with both sides fighting for European football.
Ruben Amorim’s Red Devils played out one of the most entertaining matches in recent history on Monday.
Man United’s 4-4 draw against Bournemouth at Old Trafford saw the lead swap back and forth numerous times.
Goals from Amad and Casemiro either side of an Antoine Semenyo strike for the visitors has given United the half-time lead.
Evanilson levelled matters just seconds after the break, before Marcus Tavernier put the Cherries in front.
A stunning Bruno Fernandes free-kick followed by a fourth United goal from Matheus Cunha looked to have won it for the hosts.
Eli Junior Kroupi had the final say, though, scoring six minutes from time to earn Bournemouth a well deserved point.
But amidst the frantic action, there was cause for concern for those supporting United.
Casemiro Suspension Adds To Manchester United AFCON Worries
Thanks to a cynical foul, veteran midfielder Casemiro earned himself a yellow card against Bournemouth.
The Brazilian has now accumulated too many bookings, and earned himself a one-game suspension.
On its own, this would not be too much of an issue.

But United’s squad has three stars heading to the Africa Cup of Nations, and two more frontline players injured.
Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui are all unavailable due to AFCON, while Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt remain sidelined.
There was some positive news from Monday for Amorim, though.
Striker Benjamin Sesko has shaken off his recent issues and came off the bench against Bournemouth.
Ruben Amorim Rues Missed Chances Against Bournemouth
Following Monday’s draw, United boss Ruben Amorim was frustrated with what felt like two points dropped.
“It’s really disappointing,” said the Portuguese.
“We are really disappointed. Crazy game. It might look like we lost the two points in the second half but I think we lost them in the first half.”
Earlier this week, Amorim admitted United are underachieving, but it is clear he feels the performances are improving.
“We dominated and created so many chances,” he added.
“We had to go to half-time with a different result. In the end we deserved more.
“It was a fun game for everyone at home. I think we started really well. We did a very good first half. The result should be completely different.
“And then, again, I think six minutes into the second half, similar to Nottingham [Forest], we lost the concentration and they scored two goals, but we managed to get back into the game.”
Manchester United Will Need To Be Wary Of Aston Villa Threat
Looking ahead to this weekend, United will know how dangerous Aston Villa can be.
Unai Emery’s team made a dreadful start to the season, failing to win any of their opening six in all competitions.
But they have completely turned their campaign around, with 15 wins in the last 17, including their last nine in a row.
That incredible form has moved them to third in the table, with a 2-1 win against leaders Arsenal bringing them to within three points of top spot.

United’s lack of consistency and leaky defence will give Villa plenty of hope ahead of this one.
The Midlands outfit look every bit as involved in the title fight as Arsenal and Manchester City.
So for Manchester United to get anything out of this one, they will need to tighten up at the back.
Getting the likes of De Ligt and Maguire back fit ASAP will be crucial for Ruben Amorim if he wants his side to continue looking up the table.
But for this weekend, he and United must cope without six big names – all of whom would be in line for a start were they available.
