Stimson Puts Trio Up For Transfer

Mark Stimson has chosen to make Efe Sodje, Delroy Facey and Aaron Brown up for sale or loan agreement by placing them on the transfer list.

All three of the players were signed a year ago by previous manager Ronnie Jepson, and Stimson obviously can’t see a future for them at the Gills.

If they are to depart, it will leave space in the budget for new recruits, and one player waiting for his chance is Leroy Griffiths.

Instead of offering him a new deal, Mark Stimson offered Griffiths the chance to participate in July’s pre-season training, and the player himself is confident he has what it takes.

“I know I can do a job. I told him [Stimson] by text that when he wants me in to let me know.”

“He saw me playing in a trial game and he saw that I’m still capable as I scored twice.”

“I like to prove managers wrong. I was on the pitch and he shouted to me, ‘I bet you don’t score’. I scored twice.”
