Swansea city the first team outside of England to participate in the Premier League, but are they good enough to stay up or are they the Welsh Blackpool, entertaining but going down.
Style of play
Swansea have received many plaudits with their style of play over the last few seasons in the championship.
Goalkeeper
With Dorus de Vries already gone, Brendan Rodgers knew that the keeper is an important position. With the signings of Moreira and especially Vorm and the expected signing of Tremmel they certainly have enough strength in depth.
Defence
Neil Taylor who plays left back was linked with a move to Newcastle in the summer links well with Scott Sinclair and is one of the players
Who can actually whip in a cross. Angel Rangel who plays right back is a better defender than Taylor and although he hasn’t got his pace he is more intelligent and is awesome at running in behind the defence. Ashley Williams and Steven Caulker are the two main central defenders and apart from obviously being able to defend they all play with Swansea’s style. They need another defender as Gary Monk has an injury problem as isn’t premier league standard Alan Tate has broken his leg and is out for six months, reports say.
Midfield
Last year Leon Britton returned and so far he has played well in the Premier League and the big step up obviously hasn’t phased him. Kemy Aguestien is a player who didn’t have the greatest of attitudes last year but looks a strong player who has decent vision. Joe Allen is fast becoming a fans favourite and his performances last year were exceptional, although its going to be hard for him to fight for his position but he is very determined and is a brilliant squad player. When Pratley left Swansea missed him because he is a midfielder goal scorer and a box to box ball carrier.
Wingers
With any 2 of Scott Sinclair, Nathan Dyer and Routledge running at you I think is our biggest threat so that is another reason they need Pratley.
Attackers
With Stephen Dobbie being used as an impact player playing in the hole is great and his shot is quality. Danny Graham a 3 million signing from Watford is a good fast determined player and has a good vision but just needs a bit of luck to score one goal and he will get a lot of confidence. Leroy Lita was a good striker in the top flight with reading and looks like a great impact player.
What Swansea need…….
I think they need another defender, a Pratley type player, and a striker who will score goals even if its from the bench. A poacher would be preferable.
Can they do it…….
I believe they can especially with their unique style of play
