Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Nico Paz has spoken out about the interest he has received from the Premier League.
The Argentinian international has been starring in Serie A for Cesc Fabregas’ Como and has enjoyed his time in Serie A where he has managed 37 appearances for the club since he moved in 2024.
The attacking midfielder joined the side last year having come through the youth ranks at Real Madrid but he did manage first-team outings for Los Blancos where he cut his teeth.
Spurs are said to be interested in taking the playmaker to North London and he has become an alternative to Ebere Eze who chose Arsenal over their rivals this summer.
Tottenham target Nico Paz breaks transfer silence
It is a potential transfer that would cost Spurs close to £70million should they wish to pursue officially and the reports coming out of Italy are that Thomas Frank wants the attacker.
Paz himself, however, has been making sure to keep his nose out of it and instead he has chosen to fully focus on his football and let the other things take care of themselves.
Asked about the interest in his services this window, Paz was relaxed.
And speaking to reporters in Italy, Paz said: “The transfer market? I didn’t listen to anything, I stayed focused on preparing for the season.
“Let’s hope everything goes well and that we can reach the highest possible level.”
Paz is a well respected and appreciated member of the Como squad and his teammates have admitted to be hopeful of keeping him around as Spurs continue to swarm.
What Paz’s Como teammates think of transfer link to Spurs
Frenchman Lucas da Cunha – who plays in a similar role to Paz – said: “It’s not my place to talk. I’m very calm, I know he’s very happy. He dreams of becoming a top player, he has to keep going like this, with matches like this.”
The interest in the talented 20-year-old has come as Spurs continue to chase new players in the attacking areas having, as mentioned, missed out on Crystal Palace’s Eze.
Manager Frank aimed a subtle dig at Eze as he discussed the transfer window but there are other alternatives to Paz if he becomes out of reach.
We told you how Manchester City winger Savinho is a Spurs target but the Citizens do not want to sell their Brazilian playmaker if they can help it.
Pep Guardiola is a fan of the attacker and hopes he can continue with the squad.
However City are lining up their own other options should Tottenham make their move and be able to successfully land their target.
