Hands Off Our Rich

Sky Sports has reported this morning that Premier League side Birmingham City, are lining up a move for Leicester City midfielder Richie Wellens. Wellens, who has been in fantastic form, is now 30 years of age and a move to the Premier League late into his footballing career could be a huge possibility.

Wellens was signed by Leicester in the summer of 2009 from Doncaster Rovers, where he made an instant impact at the Walkers Stadium. Wellens has been one of Sven Goran Eriksson’s key players this season, and recent Man of the Match performances may have rewarded him with a move to the Premier League; however the Foxes wouldn’t want to sell Wellens on the cheap.

In other transfer news Everton striker Yakubu is set to put his finishing touches to a loan deal, which will see the Toffees striker move to the Walkers Stadium until the end of the season.  Leicester City has also been linked with two other possible loan moves, Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson is back on the radar, aswell as Manchester United goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczack.
