Rushden and Diamonds have announced 5 friendlies in preparation for the 2008/09 Blue Square Premier season, including matches against Arsenal and Tottenham XI’s, and recently relegated Derby County from the Championship.
Diamonds start the campaign with a match against Eastern Counties League side Halstead Town (away, July 12th, 15:00), before taking on Peterborough for the Maunsell Cup title at Nene Park (26th July, 15:00). Rushden then face home matches against Derby County (29th July, 19:45), an Arsenal XI (31st July, 19:00), and a Tottenham XI (4th August, 19:30). This sees a rematch of last years friendly where Rushden won 3-2.
