Everton vs Aston Villa Betting Tips, Correct Score Prediction and Best Bet Builder Picks

Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa injury news

Aston Villa are 41/20 to get their first win of the season by beating Everton on Saturday, but their opponents are in fine form.

Everton have won their last three matches and are 6/4 shots to extend that run on what will be a big day for Jack Grealish as he faces his former club.

The Toffees have not won four games in a row since December 2023. But David Moyes’ men will kick off as favourites on Saturday against a Villa team who have yet to score a goal this season.

Despite their dismal start, Villa still have a 3.2% chance of ending the season as champions, according to a recent study on the Premier League title race.

Everton vs Aston Villa betting tips

Aston Villa have drawn a blank in each of their first three Premier League games this season, but that barren run is unlikely to go on much longer.

Ollie Watkins, who has scored 60 goals across his last three club campaigns, is averaging 2.7 shots per game this season. Therefore, it is surely only a matter of time before he finds the net.

Football betting sites reckon Watkins is the most likely candidate to score first and odds of 6/1 are not bad at all. Watkins to score anytime can be backed at 2/1.

Meanwhile, all eyes will be on former Villa captain Grealish, who has made a fabulous start at Everton following his loan move from Manchester City.

Grealish — who should be fresh after being left out of the recent England squad — has produced four assists in his first three league appearances and is expected to be the home side’s biggest attacking threat.

While Grealish to score anytime at 17/4 is not bad, a slightly smarter bet could be 7/4 that he either scores or assists.

Everton vs Aston Villa: Correct Score prediction

Grealish has got Everton playing with much more flair than what fans had become accustomed to over recent years.

Everton games last season averaged just 2.26 goals — no other Premier League team witnessed fewer — but their 3-2 win at Wolves last time out could be a glimpse of what is to come.

With Grealish pulling the strings, another open contest could favour the Toffees and we fancy them to edge an entertaining match.

A 3-2 home win is priced at a whopping 33/1, while over 2.5 goals is an attractive even-money shot.

Everton vs Aston Villa: Best Bet Builders

For ambitious punters wanting long odds, 170/1 is available for a Bet Builder that contains Over 3.5 goals, Grealish to get at least one assist, Watkins to record two or more shots on target, James Tarkowski to commit two or more fouls and Matty Cash to be shown a card.

A more cautious option would be to back Watkins to have at least one shot on target, Cash to commit one or more fouls and BTTS. That works out at exactly 2/1 with multiple bookies.

Everton vs Aston Villa team news

Everton manager Moyes has a few injury headaches to contend with ahead of Saturday’s clash.

Centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite is unlikely to feature, while Vitaliy Mykolenko returned early from international duty with Ukraine after picking up a fresh knock. Adam Aznou is also a doubt, which could again see James Garner asked to fill in at left-back.

In midfield, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall may be asked to operate slightly deeper, with teenager Tyler Dibling pushing for a first Premier League start if Grealish shifts into a central role.

Up front, Thierno Barry is in contention to lead the line, especially with Beto only just back from a long international trip.

Meanwhile, Andres Garcia is expected to miss the game for Villa with an unspecified injury, while Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana are both doubtful due to thigh problems.

But Matty Cash looks set to be passed fit despite limping out of Poland’s 3-1 win over Finland with a minor strain.

Harvey Elliott is in line to make his Villa debut following his deadline-day loan move from Liverpool. But Saturday’s game might come too soon for fellow loanee Jadon Sancho, who is still working his way to full fitness after an incomplete pre-season.
