Crystal Palace Agree £35 Million Fee For Premier League Star

Brennan Johnson Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have agreed a £35 million fee with Tottenham for Welsh international winger Brennan Johnson.

Wales and Tottenham forward Brennan Johnson looks like he could soon be heading to Selhurst Park.

The 24-year-old has been the subject of significant interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

Aston Villa began talks for Johnson last week, while Everton and Bournemouth are also keen.

But it’s Crystal Palace who appear to have struck the most decisive blow so far in this transfer saga.

The Eagles have agreed a deal in principle with Tottenham, worth £35m.

Crystal Palace Agree Fee For Brennan Johnson

Arriving at Tottenham from Nottingham Forest in 2023, Johnson has made 107 appearances for Spurs.

In that time, he’s scored 27 goals, including the winner in last season’s Europa League final.

But he has struggled for game time under new boss Thomas Frank.

So far in 2025-26, he’s played 15 Premier League games, but most of these have been substitute appearances.

With a total playing time of just 600 minutes, he’s been unable to make much impact under Frank.

Although netting three goals in that time, it’s become clear he isn’t going to start many games.

There has been growing speculation of an impending exit, which now appears highly likely.

Negotiations between Palace and Spurs have advanced quickly in recent days.

Palace are keen to bring in a proven Premier League winger who can reinforce their right flank.

Having agreed a £35m fee, the final decision now rests with the player.

However, Johnson in understood to have made no final commitments to join Palace at this stage.

Brennan Johnson Still Pursued By Other Clubs

While Palace agreeing a fee with Tottenham is a big step, no deal is yet done.

The two clubs agreeing their half of the deal is one thing, but it is still up to Johnson to accept the move.

With multiple clubs still in the hunt for his signature, this one is far from over.

Everton are long-term admirers of Johnson, with David Moyes desperate to add depth and quality to his side’s struggling attack.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth are on the hunt for someone to replace Antoine Semenyo.

Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo is expected to leave, with Johnson a possible replacement.

Semenyo rejected Tottenham last week, but looks set to join one of Manchester City, Liverpool or Manchester United in January.

City are understood to be Semenyo’s preferred destination, with the club ready to trigger his £65m release clause.

As a result, Bournemouth could also soon be prepared to spend on bringing in Johnson as a replacement.
