Dominic Calvert-Lewin undergoes Leeds United Medical With Everton Mission On Horizon

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is undergoing a medical at Leeds United as he looks set for an instant Everton return.

The striker, 28, is on the verge of a free transfer to the newly-promoted Whites as they look to add his Premier League experience to their roster of attackers for the coming season.

Calvert-Lewin has been a free agent since he left the Toffees back in June and he did so at the end of nine long years at Goodison Park.

The likes of Newcastle United and other top tier clubs were reportedly interested in the frontman but now it looks like Daniel Farke has won the race to land the player and he is doing his tests at the stadium.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s first Leeds game could be vs Everton

Calvert-Lewin will become Leeds’ eighth summer recruit on their way back to the big time and he will compete against expected new teammates Lukas Nmecha and Joël Piroe who finished last season’s Championship as the top scorer.

It is a move which will see two other dominos fall at Leeds with Rodrigo Muniz now unexpected to make the move to Elland Road from Fulham. That is, of course, so long as Calvert-Lewin’s medical goes off without a hitch.

It also means Patrick Bamford’s move out of the club could now accelerate after manager Farke told the 31-year-old he had no future at United.

Calvert-Lewin’s seemingly imminent switch to Leeds will see him making a quick return to action against the team he spent nearly a decade playing for.

Leeds take on Everton, who signed Jack Grealish this week, in their opening Premier League matchday of the campaign on Monday evening and DCL will surely – if picked to be in the squad by Farke – hope to have a say in the action.

What Calvert-Lewin said about Everton exit after nine year stint

The player described his decision to leave his boyhood club as “incredibly difficult” via his social media pages but admitted at the time he knew it had to be done for both parties.

“After nine remarkable years at this club, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision – together with my family – to begin a new chapter in my career. This isn’t something I chose lightly. Everton has been my home since I was 19 years old.

“It’s the place that saw potential in me, challenged me to grow, and shaped me both as a footballer and as a man.

“I want to express my gratitude to all the managers and coaches I’ve worked with over the years, and to my teammates who have become lifelong friends.”

“Above all, I want to speak to you, the fans. Your passion is the beating heart of this club. Whether times were good or tough. Your unwavering support never faltered.

“Celebrating goals at Goodison Park, feeling that roar, is an experience I’ll carry with me forever.

“The choice to move on was not simply about me – it was a decision my family and I spent a long time considering together. We believe it is the right moment to seek a new challenge and continue growing, but that doesn’t lessen the bond I’ll always have with Everton.

“I’m deeply proud if what we’ve shared, fighting for this club when it mattered most, scoring big goals in crucial moments, wearing the shirt with commitment and pride. My hope is that I leave with your respect, knowing I always sought to uphold the values of this great club.

“Thank you for everything. From my very first day, I always knew what it meant to play for Everton. Up the Toffees.”
