Jack Grealish has had a strong start to the season with Everton on loan from Manchester City.
The England international was told by Pep Guardiola that he could leave City earlier this summer and the club moved quickly to ship him out.
Numerous clubs considered loan swoops including Celtic who were keen on an ambitious move amid what was a miserable transfer window for the Scottish giants.
It was David Moyes who was the manager to convince Grealish to make the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium and the former record transfer signing in UK football was pleased to make the switch.
Grealish was named player of the month for August for the first time in his career last month following a string of impressive outings and strong performances during which he shone for the Toffees.
Jack Grealish Everton permanent deal would cost £50million
In the Premier League alone he already has six appearances and four assists while he has also been thrown into matches in the Carabao Cup – playing an hour against Mansfield before only getting 30 minutes as they were knocked out by Wolves in round three.
The attacker is understood to have a future fee inserted into the loan deal between City and Everton with the clause sitting at £50million to make Grealish’s move permanent.
And it would not be out of the realms of possibility that Everton have already explored the possibility of spending that cash to ensure they are able to keep the talisman beyond his loan stint this season.
Grealish is a known talent and the playmaker has a good chance of maintaining his form with his loan club.
And that is because fans have witnessed his rise to prominence during his time with Aston Villa.
Grealish, 30, was excellent – a standout – at Villa Park during his 213 outings for the club across eight years at the club.
Has Grealish done enough to justify permanent Everton transfer?
He managed 32 goals and 43 assists in that time before he was able to make the move to the Etihad with Man City for a then-record British signing at £100m.
Everton, meanwhile, spent around £112m in transfer fees over the summer so have cash to spend and if Grealish can keep things up as they are going now, they would be mad not to cough it up.
At £50m the playmaker costs around half what he did at City and a European spot could potentially be up for grabs should things continue to go well for player and club.
It remains to be seen, of course, but it is guaranteed that Everton have considered the possibility already, just eight games into his career in Merseyside.
